About the Nannup Music Festival
Once a year the beautiful town of Nannup comes alive with performers from across the world and around Australia.
Set in the heart of the beautiful South West’s jarrah forest, beside the Blackwood River, were you a part of the large number of people who enjoyed this year’s variety of folk and world music, poetry, dance and street theatre throughout the village?
It’s almost here: the 21st Nannup Music Festival kicks off with a weekend of music, dance workshops, stalls and more fun than you could ever imagine would be packed into a weekend.
The Nannup Music Festival is a Smoke Free Event that attracts over 200 artists and thousands of fans to the unique and beautiful town of Nannup on the March long weekend from 26 February to 1 March.
Headline artists John Butler, Harry James Angus, Eleanor McEvoy and Tijuana Cartel are an awesome mix that will guarantee a weekend of music that will take you from inspiring songwriting and ballads to non stop dancing.
The Nannup Music Festival is a family friendly event and this year will be particularly special for the kids. Apart from all kids under 12 being admitted free, there will also be non stop free entertainment and activities. The Playground will be the place to be where they can make a kite or mosaic, get their face painted, join the treasure hunt or enter the special kids talent quest on the Sunday.
Another exciting part of this year’s program is the series of workshops to be held throughout the weekend. A special feature will be the Lunar Circus big top which will be heading into town and for two days will run workshops and activities.
In the newly refurbished and atmospheric Churchyard venue, punters will be inspired by many of the artists attending the festival through workshops covering beat box freestyle songwriting by Tonchi McIntosh or Rhythms of Latin America by the Funkalleros. Just two of the series which runs over two days.
